I grew up in Southern California and then moved to the mountains where I obtained a BA in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. While attending college, I showed a genuine passion for media, working as the General Manager and DJ at the University of Colorado’s radio station, doing a news internship at a local radio station and doing layout and learning graphic design at the Boulder newspaper, The Daily Camera.
Upon graduation, I was drawn to the picturesque mountains, and in 1998 moved to Durango, Colorado to live amongst the tall pines and quivering aspens. Fueling my creative juices for both art and writing, I worked as a Graphic Designer, Art Director and Communications Manager in advertising, tourism and business development, winning several awards including two First and two Second Place awards from the Colorado Press Association and Mountain Ad Managers. Inspired by nature, I also published many general interest articles in regional newspapers and magazines.
After five years of mountain living, I followed my dream and passion for wine and food to Portland, Oregon where I worked as a Marketing Communications Manager in the wine industry for several years further developing my knowledge about wine, winemaking, wine marketing and all things culinary. I continue to hone my creative skills with freelance design projects and writing articles on a variety of topics including wine, food, and lifestyle.
